Wow. What an awesome wedding…and I wasn’t even at the reception! Brooke, Kristi and I started Sarah and Steele’s wedding in downtown Norfolk. Kristi was with the men, and Brooke and I were with the women. Then all three of us converged with our fav wedding coordinator, Emily Petersen over at Sacred Heart Catholic for the ceremony. A beautiful ceremony with the bride beaming throughout was followed by a sword arch…could this wedding get any better?
Then we braved a light mist to take some awesome photos with Sarah, Steele, and Emily’s RED umbrella. As the couple got into the limo, I sped over to the Lesner to start Lauren and Emmett’s wedding with Rebecca, while Kristi and Brooke went over to the Norfolk Yacht Club to do Sarah and Steele’s reception.
Two more private portrait sessions with Sarah and Steele…one during cocktail hour, and one at a rather overcast sunset followed. Then the festivities really got rolling with a live band, cigars, and tons of dancing. What a night! Brooke and Kristi logged in a whopping 11 hours, and after I did some major editing, we’re delivering 1,499 photos to the bride and groom! The largest DVD of images we’ve delivered in all of my 30 years of shooting weddings!
As a result there’s going to more than the usual number of photos in this BLOG post, but it was just too hard to choose! BTW…flowers were designed by our favorite male florist, Daevid. And what about those Ruby Red shoes? Those were a direct nod to Sarah’s home state of KANSAS! Get it? Dorothy, Wizard of Oz, we’re not in Kansas anymore? LOVE IT!
Congrats to Sarah and Steele and thanks for being such a fun, easy to work with couple!
